A project!

Alright, for those of you who know, I am not proficient in the art of sewing~ though I would like to be. BUT I can now say that I have sewn a costume for one of my children! I am so excited to show you all a picture of this world altering event. Nolen will have to model it for you, but (the little rascal) he's sleeping. I will try and get a pic of him tomorrow! Have a great night.

More R2R pics

Hello dear ones!
I am back with the living! Today I managed to aquire the nasty bug that Emma, Mia and Ty got (gee I wonder why:) BUT now I am feeling a lot better. I managed to sleep most of the day while Scott played Super Dad. Once again . He fixed the sprinkler system, Took care of the children, got the children to clean the house, took Ty to the doctor and fed the troops (courtesy of our HERO Sue Knight. WE love you SUE!!!!!).
The link on the side that says Rachel's Blog has some great pictures of Emma's team at the Ride to River. If you get a chance to peek, they are really cute.

Here is my dear sweet girl! Nadia Elese Welch is 7 month's old already! I can't believe it. She has rapidly become a decisive member of our family. We all love her and adore being around her. She is so fun to make laugh because she just Belly laughs and her whole body shakes. I never though having five children would be sooo much fun . I am really blessed to have a family that loves each other and can't wait to be together when they're apart. I hope you enjoy all of the great new pictures!!!

Here is Emma's team FAST FAST FAST as they portage their fun noodle to the finish line. She was the only girl on her team , so I put long colorful ribbons in her hair and had her take off her helmet before she ran to the finish line so they would blow in the breeze.

Here is Miss Emma with her medal ribbons and all.

Me with my beautiful kiddos.

Best buddies!

Here are the long awaited Ridge to River pictures! Every year children from all over the Wenatchee Valley swarm to Walla Walla park and either run, Kayak, bike or run the obstacle course to VICTORY(and a medal and ice cream cone from Costco)! This year Nolen was on a team called the River Academy Rockets. He rode the biking leg for the 3rd year and LOVED it. Here he is with his team.
Here is our sweet little Nadia during the competition. She slept through most of it but woke up smiling.
Nolen ready and rearing to go!
Emma waiting with baited breath.

Day #3

Well, this post was supposed to be on what a great day we had on Saturday. AND how proud I am of Nolen and Emma and how they did at the Jr. Ridge to River competition. They were so great on their bikes and they had a blast as usual for the greatest day of the year (at least in my estimation). I will probably have to post a picture soon to show you the greatness of the day.

BUT, instead this is on the sheer sickness of the Welch house. Ty has been sick since Sunday night and I though the rest of the children had evaded it, but today Emma stayed home. She woke up feeling crummy, and was in the bathroom throwing up while Nolen and Mia were leaving for school. Then I got a call from Scott telling me that he was bringing Mia home since she threw up during Psalm singing in Mr. McEachran's room (Sorry Mr. McEachran!!!). They are all laying on the couch with their concoction (aka gatorade and sprite) watching cartoons. I am trying to get them to stay still so their poor little tummies can recover.

Nolen, ...yes we are watching him now. Scott went to his classroom after taking Mia home and took him to the school nurse so she could take his temp. He's fine, but we are keeping our eyes on him. He must feel like a fish in a bowl. What's that!? Is it the beginning of sickness or just the goofiness of a 9 year old boy? Hmmm . . .

Well, I had better go and check on my troops and start another load of laundry. Hoo Hah!

The good thing about them all being sick (we always have to have a bright side, right? I mean it is me writing after all.) is that they are sooo cute when they are sleeping and they are REALLY snuggly and loving. AND they don't eat a lot, so we are saving money! Hey, I'm trying to look and the bright side here.

Hopefully my update tomorrow will be better... Onward Christian soldiers!

Coming up for air

Hello dear blog viewers! Things here have been humming along for awhile, and I feel the need to up date, to relieve myself from undue guilt since I haven't posted in ever so long. Everyone is in great shape, nothing new to report on that end. Scott has been making front page news with his Mock Trial team. They got 4th place in the Washington State Mock Trial competition and are planning a trip to North Carolina for the National Invitational and a bit of sight seeing. We are all excited for the team and for the coach in particular.
Today (this morning at 8:30am) Miss Emma is going to have her heart monitor put on for a brief 24 hours just to check and see if we can capture something irregular. We are hoping that there will not be anything to report and that she is just going through something simple and unimportant. I had better get ready so we can fly outta here ASAP. I'll take my camera and see if I can get some pic's of the big event! Have a great day!!
